Rubus lasiostylus var. hupehensis (ex: Dan Hinkley) – ​(Only 1 available.) ​This is the Ghost Bramble, an unusual raspberry from China sporting shocking white arching stems in winter. Complete with tiny rasping brown spines on the brilliant white bark Ghost Bramble would be used to great effect set before taller evergreens; whether they be blue, bright or dark green this would make a striking coupling in the winter landscape. We have one customer, Alfred, who has planted Ghost Bramble with Thuja orientalis 'Juniperoides' which is consistently plum purple in winter and Viburnum dilatatum 'Michael Dodge which sports persistent yellow fruit into mid-winter. Yummy! Site Ghost Bramble in full sun to part shade planted in draining fertile to sandy loam where it will want to colonize. The addition of lime may be helpful. Cutting grown.
